• Acquire Marriage License and two marriage certificate applications from the city.

• Complete Nikah Application on ICC website.

  • Fill Groom’s and Bride’s information correctly.

  • Fill in the Agreed Dowry/Mahr (Advance Dowry + Postponed Dowry = Total Dowry).

• Pay the Marriage fee ($250.00) online through PayPal, Credit Card, or Debit.

• Contact ICC office at (216) 362-0786 during office hours to set up an appointment.

Here is a checklist before you officiate the marriage:

• Bride & Groom must be present.

• Bride’s Muslim Wali should be present (Wali: Father, Grandfather, Uncle, or Brother).

• If father is deceased, his death certificate must be shown. If father is not in town, wali must have power of attorney to do the Nikah. If not, father must call the Imam to give him the power of attorney.

• Two Muslim Witnesses (two Males or one Male and two Females).

• Advance Dowry is required on Nikah day.
